Dr. Peter Rao earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University before completing his training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. During the nine years he was there, he completed his Internal Medicine residency and did his fellowships in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. He met his wife, Dr. Faye Rao, in St. Louis, and together they moved to Dothan, Alabama, in 2009 where he has been serving the Wiregrass as an Interventional Cardiologist ever since. Dr. Rao was also involved in starting the Structural Heart Program at Southeast Health and he continues to perform Interventional Cardiology procedures. In January of 2022, he and Dr. Faye Rao opened their own practice where they made it their mission to provide the best cardiac care to the people of this community.
